About the Canon IXY DIGITAL WIRELESS
The Canon IXY DIGITAL WIRELESS was released in December 2005 and is a compact sold in Japan with a 1/2.5-inch CCD sensor of about 5 megapixels. Its lens covers 35-105 mm in 35mm terms, roughly a 3x optical zoom, which is a standard range for the IXY DIGITAL series of that period.
The body measures 99.0 x 54.4 x 21.7 mm excluding protrusions and weighs about 130 g with the body alone. A 2.0-inch low-temperature polysilicon TFT monitor offers 100% field of view. Recording goes to SD cards, and power comes from an NB-4L lithium-ion battery, with the ACK-DC10 compact power adapter sold separately. The name points to a wireless feature set of its own, but the camera data confirms only its core specifications: the sensor, lens, monitor, battery and card. As a compact, it is a slim, light camera with a normal three-times zoom.
Buying one used
The camera uses an NB-4L lithium-ion battery, so confirm the pack holds a charge. Check the 3x lens movement, inspect the 2.0-inch monitor, and use an SD card to verify that recording and playback work.
