About the Leica V-Lux 30 / Panasonic Lumix DMC-TZ22
The Leica V-Lux 30 / Panasonic Lumix DMC-TZ22 is a travel-oriented superzoom compact released in May 2011. It uses a 1/2.33-inch CMOS sensor of about 14 megapixels behind a 16x optical zoom that covers 24-384 mm in 35mm terms at F3.3-5.9.
The 24 mm wide end and 384 mm telephoto end let a single lens handle both interiors and distant subjects. The body measures 105 x 58 x 43 mm and weighs 219 g, thicker than a pocket compact because of the long lens. A 3-inch monitor is used for framing, and SD, SDHC and SDXC cards are supported. The model was sold under both the Leica and Panasonic names, and the two share the same core specification.
Buying one used
It uses a dedicated lithium-ion battery, so confirm the exact pack and charger with the seller. Storage is SD, SDHC or SDXC. Cycle the 16x lens fully to check for smooth, quiet movement, and inspect the 3-inch screen.
