About the Canon PowerShot SD1400 IS
The Canon PowerShot SD1400 IS is a compact released in February 2010, built around a 1/2.3-inch CCD sensor of about 14 effective megapixels. Its 4x optical zoom covers 28-112 mm in 35mm terms with an aperture of F2.8-5.9, so the wide end is the strong point.
The body is 92 x 56 x 18 mm and weighs about 133 g. At only 18 mm deep, the slim body is easy to carry. It has a 2.7-inch monitor and records to SD, SDHC or SDXC cards. Power is supplied by a Lithium-Ion NB-4L battery with a charger. Because the telephoto end stops at 112 mm, it works best for snapshots and indoor scenes.
Buying one used
The battery is the dedicated Lithium-Ion NB-4L; confirm the charger is present and the capacity has not faded. SD, SDHC and SDXC cards are supported. On a body only 18 mm deep, check the lens movement and the screen.
