About the Fujifilm FinePix JZ200
The Fujifilm FinePix JZ200 was released in January 2012 and is filed as an older compact. It has a 1/2.3-inch CCD sensor of 16 megapixels and an 8x optical zoom covering 25-200 mm in 35mm terms, with an aperture of F2.9-5.9. The F2.9 start at the wide end is relatively bright for a compact of this class.
The body measures 100 x 56 x 24 mm and weighs 135 g, and the rear 3-inch monitor is used for framing and review. The camera takes the NP-45A lithium-ion battery and records to SD, SDHC or SDXC cards. The 25 mm wide end and a moderate 200 mm reach suit travel snapshots, indoor scenes and family events. It does not extend far enough for sports or wildlife.
Buying one used
Check that the NP-45A battery holds a charge and that SD, SDHC or SDXC cards are recognised. Run the 8x zoom through its range and inspect the 3-inch screen.
