About the Kodak EasyShare M873
The Kodak EasyShare M873 arrived in June 2007 as a slim compact with a 1/2.5-type CCD of about 8 megapixels. Its lens covers 38-114 mm in 35 mm terms, a 3x optical zoom with an aperture range of F2.8-5.2.
The main attraction is the body, only 18 mm thick: 92 x 56 x 18 mm and 160 g, small enough for a jacket pocket. The rear screen is 2.5 inches, and images are saved to SD cards. The 38-114 mm range suits everyday snapshots and travel records. Measuring only 18 mm in depth, it travels easily in a bag or pocket and can come out whenever a scene catches your eye.
Buying one used
It uses a dedicated battery. On a body only 18 mm thick, check that the battery door closes firmly, that SD cards are read correctly, and that the 2.5-inch screen displays cleanly.
