About the Leica C-LUX 2
The Leica C-LUX 2 was released in March 2007 with a 1/2.5-type CCD of about 7 megapixels. Its lens covers 28-100 mm in 35 mm terms, a 3.6x optical zoom, with an aperture range of F2.8-5.6. The 28 mm wide end is the main attraction.
The body measures 95 x 52 x 22 mm and weighs 155 g. It has a 2.5-inch screen, records to SD cards, and uses the BP-DC6 lithium-ion battery, supplied with a charger. A 28 mm view takes in streets and whole rooms with ease, which makes it handy for travel snapshots, and the zoom still reaches 100 mm. Its slim, wide body is easy to slip into a jacket pocket for walks and city trips.
Buying one used
The battery is the BP-DC6 lithium-ion type, so check that a charger is included and that the battery holds a charge. Media is SD. Test the lens extension at 28 mm and inspect the 2.5-inch screen.
