About the Olympus FE-5035
The Olympus FE-5035 is a compact released in August 2010. It uses a 1/2.3-inch CCD sensor of about 12 megapixels behind a 5x optical zoom that runs 24-120 mm in 35mm terms, with a maximum aperture from F2.6 to F5.9.
The 24 mm wide end gives a generous field of view for interiors and street scenes. The body measures 96 x 58 x 20 mm and weighs 130 g, and it has a 2.7-inch monitor. Images are stored on SD or SDHC cards, and power comes from a Lithium-Ion DB-70 battery supplied with a charger. With the telephoto end at 120 mm, the camera suits everyday subjects at moderate distances more than faraway ones.
Buying one used
The battery is the Lithium-Ion DB-70, so check its charge retention and that the charger is present. Storage is SD or SDHC only. Inspect the 2.7-inch screen and make sure the lens moves in and out normally.
