About the Pentax Optio P80
The Pentax Optio P80 arrived in August 2009 with a 1/2.3-inch CCD of about 12 million pixels. The lens spans 27.5-110 mm (35mm equivalent) at F2.6-5.8, a 4x optical zoom, and the bright F2.6 wide end is its notable point.
At 102 x 59 x 25 mm and 125 g, it is thicker than many slim compacts of the time, which gives a little more to hold on to. It has a 2.7-inch LCD, uses the dedicated D-LI88 lithium-ion battery with its charger, and records to SD / SDHC cards. The 110mm telephoto end covers modest portrait framing, and because the battery type is fixed to D-LI88, a matching battery and charger matter when buying.
Buying one used
The battery is the D-LI88, so check that one is included and how long it lasts. Cards are SD / SDHC. Confirm the lens barrel works smoothly and the 2.7-inch LCD displays properly.
