About the FujiFilm FinePix JV200 (FinePix JV205)
The FujiFilm FinePix JV200 (FinePix JV205) appeared in January 2011 as a slim compact built around a 1/2.3-inch CCD sensor of about 14 megapixels. Its lens covers 36-108 mm in 35mm terms at F3.1-5.6, a 3x optical zoom that starts at a moderate wide angle rather than a very wide one.
The body measures 94 x 56 x 21 mm and weighs 125 g, light enough for a coat pocket. A 2.7-inch monitor handles framing and playback, and images are saved to SD or SDHC cards. With a short 108 mm tele end, the zoom range is modest, which suits portraits, tabletop shots and everyday snapshots at normal distances. A dedicated lithium-ion battery and charger come with the camera.
Buying one used
Check that the dedicated lithium-ion battery still holds a charge and that the charger is included. Run the 3x lens in and out, look over the 2.7-inch screen, and test an SD or SDHC card.
