About the Fujifilm FinePix Z35
The Fujifilm FinePix Z35 was released in July 2009 with a 1/2.3-inch CCD of an effective 10 million pixels. Its lens is a 35-105 mm (35mm equivalent) 3x optical zoom, and the aperture only moves from F3.7 to F4.2 across the range, so brightness changes little as you zoom.
The body is 90 (W) x 58 (H) x 24 (D) mm and weighs about 125g, with a 2.5-inch LCD. Because the lens starts at a standard 35mm view, it suits portraits and snapshots more than wide scenes. The dedicated NP-45A battery and SD / SDHC cards are used. The 105mm telephoto end handles moderate portrait distances. The F3.7 opening at the wide end is modest, so indoor shots call for attention to sensitivity.
Buying one used
The battery is the NP-45A, so check how long a charge lasts. Cards are SD / SDHC. Inspect the 2.5-inch LCD and make sure the lens moves in and out without catching.
