About the Olympus FE-5010
The Olympus FE-5010 is a compact digital camera released in January 2009. It uses a 1/2.33-type CCD with about 12 effective megapixels and a 36-180 mm equivalent lens at F3.5-5.6, a 5x optical zoom. Starting at 36 mm, it gives a slightly tighter wide end than many compacts, and reaches 180 mm at the long end.
The body is 96 (W) x 57 (H) x 21 (D) mm and weighs about 130 g. The rear screen is 2.7 inches. It uses the dedicated LI-42B lithium-ion battery and records to SD cards. A light, slim body with a 5x zoom makes it easy to carry every day. At 21 mm deep, it slips into a small bag or shirt pocket without much bulk.
Buying one used
The battery is the dedicated LI-42B, so check its capacity and whether a charger is included. Confirm that SD cards are recognized, that the lens extends cleanly, and that the 2.7-inch screen is in good condition.
