About the Canon PowerShot SD1300 IS
The Canon PowerShot SD1300 IS is a compact introduced in February 2010. It pairs a 1/2.3-inch CCD sensor of about 12 effective megapixels with a 4x optical zoom covering 28-112 mm in 35mm terms at F2.8-5.9. Starting at 28 mm gives a comfortably wide view for rooms and street corners.
The body measures 91 x 56 x 22 mm and weighs about 140 g, with a 2.7-inch monitor on the back. A moderate 12 effective megapixels on a 1/2.3-inch sensor keeps the pixel pitch from being pushed to an extreme. Images go to SD, SDHC or SDXC cards, and power comes from the Lithium-Ion NB-6L battery with a charger. With the long end at 112 mm, it is better suited to nearby subjects than distant ones.
Buying one used
The battery is the dedicated Lithium-Ion NB-6L, so check that the charger is included and that a full charge lasts. Cards can be SD, SDHC or SDXC. Look over the 2.7-inch screen and the lens extension.
