About the Canon PowerShot SD3500 IS

The Canon PowerShot SD3500 IS, released in February 2010, is defined by its 3.5-inch monitor. It uses a 1/2.3-inch CCD sensor of about 14 effective megapixels and a 5x optical zoom that runs 24-120 mm in 35mm terms at F2.8-5.9. The 24 mm wide end gives extra room for indoor scenes and snapshots.

The body measures 99 x 56 x 22 mm and weighs about 160 g, a little wider and heavier to make room for the large screen. Storage is SD, SDHC or SDXC. The camera takes a Lithium-Ion NB-6L battery with a charger. The big display makes framing and reviewing shots easier. The wide 3.5-inch screen also helps when checking focus on a played-back shot.

Buying one used

The battery is the dedicated Lithium-Ion NB-6L, so check the charger and how long a charge lasts. Cards can be SD, SDHC or SDXC. Inspect the large 3.5-inch screen for scratches and uneven display.
