The Samsung NV24HD arrived in January 2008 as a compact with a 1/2.3-type CCD of about 10 megapixels. Its lens covers 24-86.5 mm in 35 mm terms, a 3.6x optical zoom, with an aperture range of F2.8-5.9.
The 24 mm wide end is the main feature, fitting group photos, interiors and street scenes into one frame. The body measures 99 x 61 x 19 mm and weighs 195 g, with a 2.5-inch screen on the back and SD or SDHC card storage. A wide-angle lens in a slim body only 19 mm deep makes it easy to carry on trips. The 3.6x zoom ends at 86.5 mm, enough for casual portraits and details without losing the camera's wide-angle character.
