Samsung's CL5 (PL10) dates from February 2009 and is a plain, pocketable compact. It uses a 1/2.5-inch CCD with about 9 megapixels, behind an optical 3x zoom covering 38-114mm in 35mm-equivalent terms at F3.5-4.5. Because the wide end starts at 38mm, the framing leans toward portraits, tabletop shots and street snaps rather than sweeping landscapes. The body is 93 x 60 x 19mm and weighs 141g, and the 2.7-inch LCD is used for composing and playback. Images go to SD / SDHC cards, and power comes from a dedicated battery pack. At 19mm thick, it fits easily into a jacket pocket, and the F-number only moves from F3.5 to F4.5 across the zoom range, so exposure changes stay modest as you zoom in.

Check the code printed on the battery and whether a charger is included, using the seller's photos or the unit itself. Also test SD / SDHC reading, lens movement and the LCD.
