About the Olympus FE-370
The Olympus FE-370, released in August 2008, combines a 1/2.35-type CCD of about 8 effective megapixels with a 5x optical zoom at F3.5-5.6, equal to 36-180 mm. The 180 mm telephoto end lets it pull in distant subjects that shorter zooms would leave small.
The screen is 2.7 inches, and the body measures 95 x 57 x 25 mm at about 168 g. It uses xD-Picture Cards and the LI-50B lithium-ion battery. The 25 mm depth is what the longer zoom requires, and the 2.7-inch screen is a comfortable size. It is aimed at people who care most about zoom reach, such as those shooting stage events, school sports, or distant scenery on trips Check the listed figures against the camera in hand, since the lens range, screen size and card type all affect everyday handling.
Buying one used
It uses xD-Picture Cards, so have a compatible card ready. The battery is the LI-50B; check wear and look for a charger. Run the 5x zoom through its range and inspect the 2.7-inch screen.
