About the Panasonic ZS200
The ZS200 arrived in February 2018 as a travel compact that uses a 1-inch CMOS sensor of about 20 megapixels, larger than the small chips common in this class. Its 15x optical zoom covers 24-360 mm in 35mm-equivalent terms, with an aperture of F3.3-6.4.
The sensor size lets it make the most of a mid-length zoom, and the range is enough for landscapes, portraits at a distance and general travel use. At 111 x 66 x 45 mm and about 340 g, it is still small enough for a jacket pocket or a small bag. A 3-inch monitor is fitted, the battery is the DMW-BLG10, and recording is to SD, SDHC or SDXC cards. It is a sensible reference point for the 1-inch travel zoom idea.
Buying one used
The DMW-BLG10 battery and its charger should come with the camera. Extend the 15x lens and listen for rough movement, check for dust behind the glass, and test the 3-inch monitor and SD slot.
