About the Canon PowerShot S45
Released in October 2002, the Canon PowerShot S45 carries a 1/1.8-inch CCD of about 4 megapixels and a 35-105 mm lens in 35mm terms, described as roughly 3x optical zoom. It is one step in the S-series line of compacts that share this body.
A 1.8-inch low-temperature polysilicon TFT monitor with 100% coverage is built in. The body measures 112 x 58 x 42 mm without protrusions and weighs about 260 g without battery or card. Power comes from the NB-2L rechargeable lithium-ion pack supplied in the box, and an ACK700 AC adapter kit was offered separately. Images are stored on CompactFlash cards. The shape is the familiar compact S-series block with a deep grip, and the 3x zoom covers standard wide to short telephoto framing for everyday photography.
Buying one used
The NB-2L lithium-ion battery powers it: confirm that it charges and holds a charge, and whether the charger is present. Media is CompactFlash, so test a card. Check lens extension and the 1.8-inch monitor.
