About the Kodak EasyShare C713
The Kodak EasyShare C713, released in April 2008, is a plain entry-level compact that runs on two AA batteries. It carries a 1/2.5-type CCD of about 7 megapixels, a 36-108 mm equivalent lens at F2.7-4.8 with a 3x optical zoom, and a 2.4-inch monitor.
The F2.7 opening at the wide end is relatively bright for its class, which helps indoors. The body measures 91 x 66 x 37 mm and weighs 187 g; it is thicker because it has to house the AA cells. NiMH rechargeables are recommended, though ordinary AA batteries also fit, which makes it easy to keep running while traveling. Images are stored on SD cards. A 2.4-inch screen keeps the layout simple.
Buying one used
It takes two AA batteries, with NiMH rechargeables recommended. Inspect the battery compartment contacts for corrosion, check that your SD card is recognized, and look over the 2.4-inch screen.
