About the Kodak EasyShare C140
The Kodak EasyShare C140 came out in January 2009 and runs on two AA NiMH rechargeable batteries instead of a dedicated pack. It has a 1/2.5-inch CCD of about 8 megapixels and an optical 3x zoom covering 36-108mm in 35mm-equivalent terms at F2.7-4.8. The monitor is a 2.7-inch LCD. The body measures 92 x 63 x 22mm and weighs 160g, and the AA cells give it a comfortable grip. Because it uses common AA batteries, spares are easy to find on a trip. Images are saved to SD / SDHC cards. The 36mm starting point and 108mm tele end suit casual portraits and family snapshots, and the aperture narrows from F2.7 to F4.8 as you zoom in.
Buying one used
It takes two AA batteries, and NiMH rechargeables work. Inspect the battery compartment for corrosion or leak marks, then test SD / SDHC reading, lens extension and the LCD.
