About the Kodak EasyShare Z1285
The Kodak EasyShare Z1285 arrived in January 2008 as a zoom camera with a 1/1.72-type CCD of about 12 megapixels. Its lens covers 35-175 mm in 35 mm terms, a 5x optical zoom, with an aperture range of F2.8-5.1.
It runs on two AA batteries, with NiMH cells recommended. The body measures 90 x 65 x 32 mm and weighs 211 g, with a 2.5-inch rear screen and SD or SDHC card storage. Unlike a proprietary pack, AA batteries are easy to find on a trip, and the lens covers wide 35 mm through telephoto 175 mm. With a 5x zoom range and a high pixel count in one body, it handles travel scenes and portraits alike, and the SD slot keeps card handling simple.
Buying one used
It runs on two AA batteries, with NiMH recommended. Check the battery compartment for dirty contacts and a sound door latch, then confirm the 2.5-inch screen and SD or SDHC card reading.
