About the Kodak EasyShare M893 IS
The Kodak EasyShare M893 IS, released in January 2008, pairs a 1/2.5-type CCD of about 8 megapixels with a 34-102 mm equivalent lens, a 3x optical zoom at F2.9-5.2.
The screen is 2.7 inches, and the body measures 92 x 57 x 23 mm at 157 g. The wide end opens to F2.9, so dim rooms may call for care with settings. It runs on the dedicated KLIC-7001 battery and records to SD or SDHC cards. The 102 mm telephoto end is comfortable for portraits, and the 8-megapixel resolution is plenty for ordinary prints and screen viewing. The 157 g weight is easy to carry. With a 2.7-inch screen on the back, checking focus and framing is straightforward during casual use.
Buying one used
The dedicated KLIC-7001 battery needs a runtime check, and a charger should come with it. Confirm SD/SDHC card recognition, smooth lens extension, and the condition of the 2.7-inch screen.
