About the Kodak EasyShare M340
The Kodak EasyShare M340 arrived in January 2009 as a slim point-and-shoot built around a 1/2.3-type CCD with about 10 megapixels. Its lens covers 35-105 mm in 35 mm terms, a 3x optical zoom, with an aperture range of F3.1-5.7.
The body is the main attraction: 96 x 59 x 19 mm and 115 g, thin enough for a jacket pocket. The rear screen measures 2.7 inches. Power comes from the Kodak KLIC-7001 lithium-ion battery, and images are saved to SD or SDHC cards. The 35 mm wide end suits everyday snapshots and group shots, while 105 mm reaches far enough for casual portraits at a comfortable distance. With only three times zoom and a plain control layout, it is a simple camera to hand to family members for holiday and event photos.
Buying one used
The battery is the Kodak KLIC-7001. On a body only 19 mm thick, check that the battery door closes firmly, that SD or SDHC cards are read correctly, and that the 2.7-inch screen displays cleanly.
