About the Samsung TL350 (WB2000)

The Samsung TL350 (WB2000), released in February 2010, pairs a 1/2.33-inch CMOS sensor of about 10 megapixels with a 24-120 mm lens in 35mm terms at F2.4-5.8, a 5x optical zoom. The CMOS sensor sets it apart from the many CCD compacts of the same period.

It has a 3-inch monitor, records to SD or SDHC cards, and uses a dedicated SLB-11A lithium-ion battery. At 100 x 59 x 22 mm and 195 g it is larger and heavier than a slim pocket model. The 24 mm wide end suits landscapes, interiors and group shots, and the F2.4 maximum aperture at that end helps when the light is low. The WB2000 name in brackets is the alternate model designation, which is useful when searching listings.

Buying one used

The battery is the dedicated SLB-11A. At 195 g the body is on the heavy side, so look for wear around the grip. Check the 24-120 mm lens movement, the 3-inch screen, and SD or SDHC card recording.
