About the Samsung ST600
The Samsung ST600 is a compact released in January 2010. It pairs a 1/2.33-inch CCD sensor of about 14 megapixels with a 5x optical zoom of 27-135 mm in 35mm terms and an aperture range of F3.3-5.5.
The 27 mm wide end gives more room than 35 mm-start lenses of the same zoom ratio, which helps indoors and with group shots. The body measures 104 x 60 x 20 mm, weighs 150 g and carries a 3.5-inch monitor. It records to SD or SDHC cards and uses a Lithium-Ion SLB07 rechargeable battery with a charger. The 135 mm telephoto end is modest, so it works best when you can move close to the subject.
Buying one used
The battery is the Lithium-Ion SLB07, so check that the charger is included and the battery holds its charge. Storage is SD or SDHC. Inspect the 3.5-inch screen and the lens movement.
