About the Kodak EasyShare Sport
The Kodak EasyShare Sport, released in January 2011, is a waterproof, rugged compact with a 1/2.3-inch CCD sensor of about 12 megapixels. Its lens is a fixed 35 mm in 35mm terms at F3, a 1x optical zoom, so there is no zoom to manage and framing is simple.
The body is a long stick shape of 147 x 58 x 23 mm and weighs 175 g. It has a 2.4-inch monitor and records to SD or SDHC cards. Power comes from 2 AA batteries, and alkaline, lithium or Ni-MH cells all work, which makes swapping them on a trip easy. The single 35 mm angle is close to a natural field of view, suited to casual snapshots at the beach, on a trail or around the pool.
Buying one used
It runs on 2 AA batteries: alkaline, lithium or Ni-MH. Because it is a waterproof model, inspect the battery door seals for wear, check the 2.4-inch screen, and test SD or SDHC card writing.
