About the Samsung WB210
The Samsung WB210 is a travel zoom compact released in January 2011. It combines a 1/2.3-inch CCD sensor of about 14 megapixels with a 12x optical zoom covering 24-288 mm in 35mm terms, at F2.9-5.9.
The F2.9 opening at the wide end is relatively bright for this class and pairs well with the 24 mm angle indoors. A 3.5-inch monitor gives a roomy view for framing and playback. The body measures 101 x 59 x 22 mm and weighs 174 g. Storage is on SD or SDHC cards; SDXC cards fall outside the supported formats, so choose cards with that in mind. At the 288 mm end the aperture narrows to F5.9, which favours daylight. It offers a mid-length zoom and a large screen in a body that is still easy to carry.
Buying one used
It takes a dedicated battery, so confirm accessories and how long a full charge lasts. Storage is SD or SDHC, and so avoid SDXC cards. Inspect the 3.5-inch screen and the lens extension.
